Fire Hawks Command Squad

Here is the Command Squad that was mentioned last night:

They are dipped, and dry for about a day.  I touched up a few spots and added a few details that wouldn't have shown well if I had painted them before the dip.

Picture-less boring update

Last Drop Pod assembled and primed. Last unpainted Sternguard Squad primed. Progress made on partially painted Assault Squad. Command Squad painted and dipped, under fans drying right now. Edit: see here for update: http://roadtobadab.blogspot.com/2012/03/fire-hawks-command-squad.html

27 models finished. I hope to have another 15 finished before the big day (the above mentioned Assault Squad and my Terminator Squad). That leaves 37 models, and 3 Drop Pods. As bad as I feel to say those won't be done, my goal for those 37 models is to have a base coat of Mechrite Red, shoulder pads Iyanden Darksun, weapons and backpacks Boltgun Metal, and the Drop Pods to have their 3 base coats of the same three colors finished. While they won't be pretty to look at, they will add some color to the table.

Arch-Centurion Carnac Commodus WIP

Here's a nearly finished Arch-Centurion Carnac Commodus.  There are some touch-ups and details left to do, but he's mostly done! Anyone want to paint 9 tanks? =)

Another WIP shot

Im part way through putting transfers on, and man do these make a big difference, I'm really liking the look even more as I continue with this.  Also, a pretty swell revelation, I actually painted enough IG already, i was convinced I did not, but i have the 65 IG I need, all that's left is 6 heavy flamers + 3 heavy weapons teams and tanks, no problem, right?

8 Astral Claw Missile Launchers WIP

Painted and ready for transfers, dipping and basing.  Only one left to paint is Arch-Centurion Carnac Commodus and that would complete all of the Astral Claws I'll be using for this battle.  After this, there's only 20 or so IG to finish + tanks....I'm getting close, I can see the end!

8th Company, Fire Hawks Chapter

An update to my work on the Fire Hawks:

Everything so far.  Completed:  Elam Courbray, Chaplain, Vanguard Squad, Tactical Squad.  In progress:  Command Squad, Assault Squad, 2 Drop Pods.  Primed:  Vanguard Squad, Tactical Squad, Terminator Squad, Terminator Assault Squad.  Unprimed:  Sternguard Squad.  Not pictured:  Unassembled Drop Pod.

Elam Courbray. Better Picture than the other evening.

Chaplain.  Finished him today.  Didn't dip him, but used a wash on him.  Still needs to be matte sprayed.

Vanguard Squad.  Had some blistering when I matte sprayed them, despite having waited FOUR DAYS after I dipped them to spray them.  None of the blistering flaked away, and I did some touch-up painting over the bad spots.

Tactical Squad.  Were dipped yesterday.  Will make some paint touch-ups, then will wait a long time to matte spray them.
