I took a bit of a break from painting squad after squad of IG and decided I need to get my commander up and ready. I will not be dipping this guy, he's getting the best paint treatment I know how to do. So far, I'm super happy with how he's turning out, shouldn't take too much longer to finish painting this one.
Hello everyone and welcome to the Road to Badab. This blog has been created in an effort to keep me on track with painting models for my Astral Claws and to keep my group interested and excited for our Badab themed Apocalypse game coming in April 2012.

Tactical Squad 2
Here is the second tactical squad I made for my Astral Claws. I tried to make some interesting poses instead of just using shooting marines. Transfers will be added as soon as they arrive from Forgeworld. I should have pictures of the some terminators to share soon as well. I painted these differently than the last squad and I'm much happier with the results.

More Guard....
Quick update, I've been painting about as much and as fast as I know how. After dipping/basing those in the photo, I'll have about 50+ guard painted. Kayle and friends helped me build a rough outline to a Tyrant's Legion list, which has WAY more space marines that I care to deal with, but, such is life and 40 tactical marines have been ordered and are on their way here as I write this. I'll post a force shot once I get that group done and can show a little more totally completed.
Also, if anyone has any IG Heavy flamer bits left over from the command boxes...hit me up, I'll buy them off of you. If not, no worries.

I will make this into several posts instead of one long one.
So I'm working on a Red Scorpions Seige Assault Vanguard Army for the upcoming apocalypse.

Assembly Weekend
Got together with Jake, Greg and Matt this weekend. They painted, I assembled. Greg finished an awesome Rhino / Razorback, and Jake and Matt worked on Marines, all of which look great. Anyways, here is a pic showing my assembly progess:
What I have left to assemble: 10 Tactical Marines, 10 Sternguard Marines, 2 Drop Pods, 9 Assault Marines, 3 Vanguard Marines, 1 Terminator, 1 Assault Terminator. Then, painting, painting, and painting.

Imperial Guard Painting Update
I figured I'd join in and post a few of the units that are in progress, right now it's a couple of squads out fo the many I have. I've been reading up on Badab (as my knowledge of it is very thin) and trying to work out what's best to put in a list. This is something I'm pretty terrible at, so I figured I'll work on troops as I'm planning on bringing plenty along to the fight. For all of the troops in my army I've opted to use the dipping method, which really makes the daunting task of painting a horde of troops, not so bad, and far less intimidating.
Here's a squad all ready to be dipped.
Here's a squad freshly dipped and still shiny!
Here's a squad that's totally finished, based, and ready to go.
Brief Update
Here's a picture of what has been assembled so far. Big work weekend coming up! Some paint might actually be applied to models.
